A Passion for Woodworking & Mentorship

Founder & Instructor

With over 15 years of teaching experience, including four years internationally in Qatar and Taiwan, Ben Kenan has worked across disciplines including history, English, physical education, and woodworking. For the past six years, he has taught woodworking and movement within a Waldorf educational setting, guiding students in developing both practical skill and personal responsibility.

Intuitive Woodworking was founded to provide young people with meaningful, hands-on learning in a structured and safety-centered environment. Through careful instruction and progressive skill development, students learn to use real tools with confidence, precision, and respect.

In addition to his work with students, Ben maintains an active craft practice, designing and building custom pieces rooted in traditional woodworking techniques and material integrity. His instructional approach is informed by the same standards he brings to the bench: patience, precision, and a deep respect for the craft.

Rooted in traditional craftsmanship and shaped by years in the classroom, his work emphasizes focus, accountability, and community. The goal is simple: to help students become capable, grounded, and confident in their ability to build and create.
